Terms of Use & Disclaimer
The terms on which we provide this website, and an important safety disclaimer. Last updated: 20 June 2026.
Safety disclaimer — please read
HilbreTides provides tide predictions and safe crossing windows for general planning purposes only. They are estimates based on astronomical predictions and do not account for actual weather, wind, atmospheric pressure, storm surge, or local conditions on the day, all of which can change the real water level and timing.
The walk to Hilbre Island is undertaken entirely at your own risk. Always check conditions when you arrive, set off in good time, and never attempt to outrun an incoming tide. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of hilbretides.co.uk (the "Service"), operated by HilbreTides ("we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle data and cookies.
Tide times, heights, crossing windows and weather information shown on the Service are predictions and are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we take care to source data from reputable providers and present it accurately, we make no warranty that the information is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
You are responsible for your own safety and for verifying conditions before and during any crossing. The Service is not a substitute for local knowledge, official safety advice, or sound personal judgement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HilbreTides shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage of any kind arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any information it contains, including any decision to cross to or from Hilbre Island.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Tidal predictions are derived from the Admiralty UK Tidal API. This Service contains ADMIRALTY® tidal data © Crown copyright and database right. Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo. We are not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, these providers, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of their underlying data.
Tide predictions for some Wirral locations are derived by applying published high-water offsets to Liverpool (Gladstone Dock) predictions and should be treated as indicative.

You may view and share links to our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit our original content without our written permission. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it other than through the interface we provide, scrape it at a volume that places undue load on our systems, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
